Postpartum
Care and Education ServicesComing November 2023: Postpartum Care and Education Services
(Postpartum Doula Services).
Having a baby is such a joyous time, however the first few weeks following the birth are one of the most important times for your recovery, and for bonding with your baby. So many new parents feel overwhelmed with trying to adjust to their baby, as well as trying to keep up with all the other household tasks that still require attention. Let’s not forget your recovery from birth. Unfortunately, the recovery part takes a back seat because that requires rest, and new babies do not always let mom do this. They have just entered a foreign environment and they can be quite needy.
Why are postpartum care services important?
As I said earlier, the postpartum period is one of the most important times for the recovery of mom and bonding with baby. If mom isn’t getting the rest she needs, her body cannot recover, her milk supply will lessen, and her mental health will suffer. Not to mention that new parents have a lot of questions about how to care for their newborn (especially if you are a first-time parent). Hiring a postpartum care professional should alleviate these questions because they will be able to: teach you how to care for your newborn, help keep up with household tasks, do meal prep, help care for the older siblings, care for baby while mama sleeps, and is an ear to listen to any other concerns that may pop up as time goes on (believe me, there are always lots of those).
It takes a village to raise a child. At least that is what I grew up hearing my mother say time and time again. Before I had children, I never understood how true this statement is. My wonderful mother had six children and she raised all of us on her own. She made everything look so easy and she didn’t have this “village” that everyone talks about. A lot of cultures in Europe have that “village” to help new parents when their babies come along so they can recover and get the rest and support they need. I would love to be that support system during your postpartum journey. I have five children of my own, have worked in the childcare industry for over 10 years, and for the last three years I have worked with families as a certified sleep consultant. As of October 31, 2023, I will be a certified Postpartum Care and Education Professional, and I am looking forward to working with and supporting families during their postpartum journey.
My goal is to provide the support you need to ensure you and your partner fully enjoy the postpartum period with as little stress as possible. I will never push my opinions, values, or beliefs on you or persuade you to do anything that is outside of your values, belief system or what you want for your family.
If postpartum care and support service is something you would find helpful, book a call so we can see if we would be a good fit to work together. I am taking bookings that are starting November 2023 so book now to reserve the optimal days and times that work best for you. I look forward to hearing from you.
